Reveal Your Detroit Opening Reception and Display
Burners Without Borders is participating in the community photograph program Reveal Your Detroit, connected with Detroit Institute of Art’s Detroit Revealed: Photos 2000-2010 exhibit.
Doxie, the BWB Detroit representative, has gotten twenty disposable cameras to give Detroit Homeless the chance to express their story to people who may never encounter them and vice versa the ability to speak loudly with images…to bring more attention to the issue in our community.
Friday, June 15, 2012 – Wednesday, August 15, 2012
Reveal Your Detroit is a unique community photography project that was inspired by the DIA’s Detroit Revealed: Photographs 2000-2010. The display will feature a digital compilation of submissions, including those from The Detroit Free Press Detroit Self-Portrait project, the DIA’s Flickr pool, and from over 50 Detroit-based community organizations and groups. Reveal Your Detroit showcases a broad cross-section of images – from the gritty to the sublime – of Detroit’s rich diversity and unique character.
Please join us on Friday, June 15 from 3 to 6pm for our opening reception at the Detroit Public Library to see the display.
The display hours after June 15 are as follows:
Tuesday 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Thursday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
