July 2014 Breaking Borders Event

Back in July Xaina Mulvihill hosted the First Ever “Breaking Borders” event and she helped BWBD while doing so.. huge gratitude to her and her crew.

Saturday, July 26, 2014 (7pm – 2am), the Tangent Gallery/Hastings Ballroom presents an arts & entertainment multi-media event that’s a few hundred years in the making.

Borders of time and imagination are broken as we encompass a world of old Victorian with Steampunk and Tribal genres throughout the main gallery and ballroom. Live music by Tartanic, Dixon’s Violin, and Servator encapsulate the ballroom. A unique performance by Detroit’s Best Performance Troupe Satori Circus, and word performances by ZakAndWhatArmy, with fire dancers, aerial acrobatics, and hoop performers adding to the eclectic energy of the night. A runway fashion show will allow you to expand your wardrobe creativity, and finish the night with a Dubstep rave party.

We are supporting our local community! You can donate at the door, during the event, or by purchasing any of the amazing art on the walls!

Burners Without Borders!

Burners without Borders Detroit is a 100% volunteer direct action driven project of caring people in and around Detroit who want to help. We have no agenda other than to help others and as a bonus we meet and make friends along the way. Together we create random acts of kindness & service to Detroit Homeless one supply filled backpack at a time. This project started grassroots seven years ago and while it still is it has grown to bring more and more people together resulting in more and more people being helped without anyone expecting anything in return.
