After a few cancelled dates.. we were finally able to meet this past Sunday and make two dozen packages to donate to Alternatives For Girls.
a few of the supplies we had on hand..(edit thanks amy for reminder)- we added “pads, tampons, baby wipes, candy, soap, deodorant, hand sanitizer, lotion. Someone donated a big bin of t shirts. And some full size natural hair products.”
We still have more to collet from local ladies and plan to do more bags to hand out in the future!
We were able to stuff 24 bags and have 8 more to add some items to in order to make them complete before taking them over to Alternatives for Girls
Kelly Drake from the Mindful Art Center in Livonia was kind enough to home her local business to us to unpack all our supplies and repack them into gallon size bags for distribution.
Jayden and Atticus, two local second graders, collected Precious Pennies to donate to to Burners without Borders Detroit. There efforts will be used for the Homeless Backpack Project this winter. Huge Thanks for Amy H. for making this wonderful connection and helping teach a younger generation the importance of giving back…and that anyone at any age can make a difference in the lives of someone else.
